Disability
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and subsequent changes to it makes it unlawful for employers to discriminate against disabled people who apply for jobs with them. Employers are also legally obliged to make reasonable adjustments to enable disabled people to participate fully in the workplace. Both universities in Sheffield have Disabled Student Support units that are there to help people with disabilities. They enable disabled students to gain all the help they need to ensure they are not at a disadvantage to any other student.
