| How does your organisation ensure a good work-life balance? | We tend to try and be as flexible as possible (as flexible as you can in a small business). Our directors have one day off every week and we aim that everyone could try and change their work hours to suit their lifestyle. As long as the work gets done and can be called on to work when things are very busy. |
| How are people inducted into your organisation? How long is the process? | We are committed to Investors in People, but are only trying to take on the ethos at the moment, as we don’t want to bite off more than we can handle. As part of this process, we have a checklist to go through with new starters. This takes approximately 1 hour and then we try and keep ongoing support via in house training and development. |
| How does the organisation embrace employees to make them feel part of the team? | Via the induction process and trying to have regular meetings. However, this is problematic, as we are a very busy small team. It is the easiest thing in the world to say that we haven’t got time for meetings! |
| What kind of training do you provide for new starters within the organisation? | We carry out a training needs analysis and treat everyone as an individual. We try and show everyone that we want them to undergo as much training and development as they need for the job. |
| What benefits/rewards are offered by the organisation? | Free training and support. 3 & 6 monthly reviews count towards pay increases and any bonus. |
| What is the recruitment process for a graduate applying for work with your organisation and what core competencies do you look for? | We would always ask prospective employees to complete an application form. We are as keen to recruit on personality and attitude as we are on qualifications. We want people that are going to have the same work ethic as the rest of us! |
