| What responsibilities do you hold? | Testing and provision in the Quality Assurance department. Producing bug reports for submission to clients following specific criteria. Essential to meet hardware manufacturers' standards. Spanish translation. |
| What do you enjoy the most about this job? | Ability to use languages, great working in a team, exhibiting products at trade events in London, Manchester, Birmingham etc. Plenty of opportunities to network for contacts leading to freelance jobs. |
| What do you enjoy the least? | Continuous testing can be a bit monotonous! Long hours, have worked 14 hours a day on occasion. |
| What was involved in the recruitment process for this job? | Luckily very informal as I was put forward by a friend a few years ago while at home in Brighton over the summer break. Straight in at the deep end to a development company based in Wales for 2 weeks - Had my induction and training afterwards!! |

| When did you start thinking about what you wanted to do after graduation? Thinking back did you leave enough time for this? | Left it too late, started to plan around summer 2003 during my final exams. |

| Did you experience any difficulties when it came to finding work after graduation? If yes, please describe some of the problems you faced? | Had not prepared interview techniques. Struggled during psychometric tests. |
| What do you wish you had known before you started applying for jobs? | Networking is often the best policy and having the right contact to email or submit your CV. Qualifications are not the be all and end all to obtaining your dream career. |
| What advice would you give to someone applying for jobs now? | Go over several situations in your head and be prepared for any generic interview questions you may face. Thoroughly read up about the company beforehand. |
| Would you have done anything differently while at university to prepare for your career? Please give details. | Attended more employer presentations, visited the careers office more... Studied harder!! |
| How do you feel your degree has prepared you for today's labour market? | Yes, the Human Resource aspect of my course was excellent and I applied it to my former HR job in Canary Wharf, London. |
