Please give details of your experience?As part of my degree I did a years work placement in the field of building surveying.
How useful did you find this work experience when it came to find a job after graduating?I found my work placement quite useful when it came to getting a job after graduation. However, I think it is essential to continue gaining more experience .

What responsibilities do you hold?I am responsible for running all my own work every day.
What do you enjoy the most about this job?I enjoy the flexibility that is involved in the job, as it allows me to work on differnt jobs at different times.
What do you enjoy the least?As part of my job I have to work in the very bad weather, which can be very off putting.
What was involved in the recruitment process for this job?There was no recruitment process, I work self-employed.

If so, how does your current situation fit into this plan?I plan to go into surveying after 6-7 months of gaining valuable experience and insight into the industry.
When did you start thinking about what you wanted to do after graduation? Thinking back did you leave enough time for this? As soon as I left school at the age of 16, I started thinking about what I wanted to do after graduation. This provided me with the opportunity to graduate in a field that was applicable to my chosen career.

Did you experience any difficulties when it came to finding work after graduation? If yes, please describe some of the problems you faced? I didn't experience any problems in getting the job I am in now.
What do you wish you had known before you started applying for jobs? I wish I had been told and seeked out more information about the professional body.
What advice would you give to someone applying for jobs now?I would advise them to go for it, apply for as many jobs as possible as there are lots of jobs available.
Would you have done anything differently while at university to prepare for your career? Please give details.To prepare for my career, whilst I was at university I would gave done more research in this area of work.
How do you feel your degree has prepared you for today's labour market?I feel my degree prepared me very well for todays labour market. However, I would stress the importance in gaining experience, as the degree alone is not good enough to get a graduate job.
