| When did you start thinking about what you wanted to do after graduation? Thinking back did you leave enough time for this? | I was thinking well before graduation. |

| Did you experience any difficulties when it came to finding work after graduation? If yes, please describe some of the problems you faced? | No problems finding work. I did have to do some consultancy work for a few months before getting the right post-doc for my interests. |
| What do you wish you had known before you started applying for jobs? | How important 'who you know' is. |
| What advice would you give to someone applying for jobs now? | Make sure you sell yourself without appearing arrogant. Think carefully about where you want to be in 5-10 years time so you get the best job (even if its temporary) to help with these long term plans. |
| Would you have done anything differently while at university to prepare for your career? Please give details. | I would have made sure that I contacted more people within my area so that I had contacts before applying. |
| How do you feel your degree has prepared you for today's labour market? | It is excellent for what I want to do, but if I had not chosen academia/research I don't think it would have been more advantageous than simply having my masters qualification. |
