| If so, how does your current situation fit into this plan? | Ahead of schedule, felt I was about 3-5 years off getting a job of this calibre. Feel that i will be looking for Quality Manager/Director jobs in large multinationals in 10-15 years |
| When did you start thinking about what you wanted to do after graduation? Thinking back did you leave enough time for this? | I didn't think about it at all until I graduated.... therefore definitely not early enough. |

| Did you experience any difficulties when it came to finding work after graduation? If yes, please describe some of the problems you faced? | Finding any kind of science job to start repaying the overdraft was easy, however finding something I wanted to do took more time as I was quite fussy about location. |
| What do you wish you had known before you started applying for jobs? | Interview technique and also what options were available |
| What advice would you give to someone applying for jobs now? | Take a temp job so you don't look like a slacker, then think about what you want to do before applying on mass... take something that may not be quite right as early on any relevant experience is useful and you can leave your first jobs early if you don't like them as it wont effect your future prospects. Also write a good brief well presented CV, as someone who has done recruitment I know that 90% of CV's don't get read if they are to scruffy/long/hard to read. |
| Would you have done anything differently while at university to prepare for your career? Please give details. | Worked harder... I slacked for far to long, hasn't effected me now but it did make it harder to get a job at first |
| How do you feel your degree has prepared you for today's labour market? | The technical content has, but nothing prepares you for the cut and thrust of commercial organisations |
