When did you start thinking about what you wanted to do after graduation? Thinking back did you leave enough time for this? Start of final year, this allowed ample time to arrange my PhD place.

Did you experience any difficulties when it came to finding work after graduation? If yes, please describe some of the problems you faced? No, but I feel I may have been quite fortunate
What do you wish you had known before you started applying for jobs? There were more options available and not to have jumped at the first opportunity. I was lucky in that things have worked out well but that might well not have been the case.
What advice would you give to someone applying for jobs now?For PhDs in chemistry - Try to meet the prospective research group, as well as look into the research area. It is the group of people you work with which will define your enjoyment of the PhD.
Would you have done anything differently while at university to prepare for your career? Please give details.No, the course was enjoyable and allowed me to progress quite easily to this stage.
How do you feel your degree has prepared you for today's labour market?As I'm not, as yet, part of the labour market I'm not really in a position to answer that. I think my degree taught me how to communicate with people which I guess is pretty important.
