| If so, how does your current situation fit into this plan? | I see this role an opportunity to gain commercial experience in the IT industry. I hope to move on to a larger company in time. |
| When did you start thinking about what you wanted to do after graduation? Thinking back did you leave enough time for this? | When the careers fair came to the University in my final year. Looking back I don't think this was nearly early enough. |

| Did you experience any difficulties when it came to finding work after graduation? If yes, please describe some of the problems you faced? | I found that competition for graduate jobs was tough and my application and interview skills could have been much better. |
| What do you wish you had known before you started applying for jobs? | Application and interview techniques. I wish I'd had a meeting with a careers advisor. |
| What advice would you give to someone applying for jobs now? | Speak to a careers advisor. Gain as much work experience in the fields you are interested in, especially during holidays, even if it is just to see if you would like to do that kind of job as a career. |
| Would you have done anything differently while at university to prepare for your career? Please give details. | A year in industry. Gained some work experience in different fields. Spoken to tutor and career advisor about what kind of jobs past students had gone into. |
| How do you feel your degree has prepared you for today's labour market? | I think living away from home and managing my own life and finances has prepared me for working as much as my degree. My degree gave me some academic skills that can be applied to my work, but I do not work in the same field as my degree. |
