What responsibilities do you hold?Audit assistant to qualified chartered accountants - various duties on client site and office based.
What do you enjoy the most about this job?Variety - experience of different size organisations operating in different business sectors.
What do you enjoy the least?Travel to clients - they are spread over Cambridgeshire, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Lincolnshire. These jobs are covered by the Cambridge and Ipswich offices.

When did you start thinking about what you wanted to do after graduation? Thinking back did you leave enough time for this? Prior to choosing my degree, at sixth form college.

Did you experience any difficulties when it came to finding work after graduation? If yes, please describe some of the problems you faced? Yes, there is tough competition for jobs with the big four. Recruitment is a tough process and often little feedback is available if you are rejected.
What do you wish you had known before you started applying for jobs? A summer work experience placement would have made the process much easier and well-informed.
What advice would you give to someone applying for jobs now?Start your research early and try to get a summer placement so you know if its the right thing for you before you commit yourself to a job.
Would you have done anything differently while at university to prepare for your career? Please give details.Tried for a summer placement.
How do you feel your degree has prepared you for today's labour market?Relevant, high quality teaching has aided my study in the workplace, and has developed a sceptical mind.
