When did you start thinking about what you wanted to do after graduation? Thinking back did you leave enough time for this? Had no idea what I wanted to do after graduating. All I knew is that I wanted to travel first.

Did you experience any difficulties when it came to finding work after graduation? If yes, please describe some of the problems you faced? Yes. As I had travelled for a while I felt I would not be able to compete with new graduates and those who had completed a year in industry.
What do you wish you had known before you started applying for jobs? Companies opinions on recruiting graduates who take a gap year. I had bad feedback on this from a couple of company presentations.
What advice would you give to someone applying for jobs now?Don't stress! It took me 4 years to find the career I was looking for. Don't be afraid to try different jobs first or try temping.
Would you have done anything differently while at university to prepare for your career? Please give details.My degree could not prepare me fully for the career I have chosen but I do not regret it.
How do you feel your degree has prepared you for today's labour market?I have a good degree and it has given me numerous skills including time management, teamwork, IT, numeracy, which I can use in my present career albeit unrelated. On a personal level too it has enhanced my inter/interpersonal skills, made me a more confident person and less stressed about having to find a career immediately after graduating.
